Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though
you relied on the video to make your point.
You clearly know what youre talking about, why throw away
your intelligence on just posting videos to your site when you could
be giving us something informative to read?

Hi Gillian, these are great suggestions for making money as a writer. Another good place to find clients is odesk too. I hired some good writers at odesk in the past – the problem I had was that I couldn’t keep them, because they got too busy.

    Nice tips, Gillian.

Writing for hire is a nice way to work from home piecemeal, while building an actual business.

A blog is a great place to attract clients, because it serves as an open portfolio. You might even consider promoting your writing services within each post, such as in the author box. That way, people reading your articles will be made aware that they could hire you to write similar sorts of things for them.

    Hi Gillian,

You have provided some great information for one to get started writing. I have worked as a freelance writer in the past. I recall the challenge I sometimes had pumping out more articles without sacrificing quality. Overall, it was enjoyable since I love writing.

Hi Gillian. I’ve worked for a large internet company as a writer for a niche area I was an expert in, which definitely made it easier to generate content (and income!). It was really enjoyable and gave me a lot of visibility.

I also write articles for my own blog, which does allow me to earn some passive income, but at the moment my main focus is about establishing credibility and offering a helping hand to my readers. The income will come.

I would really enjoy writing for other companies as well again, so having that magical list Zach referred to would be awesome!

    Hi Gillian,

This is my first time visiting you blog and I have really enjoyed it. I like this article about making money by writing Articles and although I have a couple of blogs I write for I had not considered writing for someone else for money but It’s something I will be looking into as an additional income stream.

    Thanks for the great suggestions.

On thing I’d really like to see on your blog are links to some places where articles can be submitted for money. Do you have a list of some of your favorite places?

I only write for a few of my clients these days because my business more focuses on web design and development. I’ve contemplated bringing on a person to my team for writing in the near future, but I’d still end up creating some of the graphics for the articles myself. So, I have to find a balance in how to charge appropriately for that.

Don’t you think writing and nailing it are really valuable talents? As an example, in the past I once hired a writer from PeoplePerHour and also one from from HireWriters.

I gave very open briefs and and I appreciated their different way of looking at things, the different approach, the style, and the tone.

A handy article thanks for sharing it. Is it acceptable to do the article in Open Office if you don’t have Word? I do ghostblogging for clients, but I hire in writers to do the writing. I’m finding an increased desire for technical writers, so if you know anyone please send them my way to be interviewed.

I never thought I’d grow to like blogging and have even considered some of the tips you’ve put forth here. For now I think I’ll keep to my coaching program and perhaps down the line and write for money as a stream of income.

    Hi Gillian,

Article writing is in high demand these days with just about everyone on the internet. From small start up companies to large ones.

I like the idea you have to write for yourself and others. This way if someone has to choose a writer all they have to do is scan out your blog and see if it resonates with them.

What a great idea for those with good knowledge and writing skills.
There must be web-sites for all areas of life and business out there, and you’ve explained how to match them with writers, so a fantastic way to start earning for writers.e

Good suggestion to write for others and yourself at the same time :)

    Thanks Gillian!

It’s always best to have as many viable options as you can! And your post helps to open our eyes to what’s available!

I think most beginning online marketers will be shocked when they finally start to realize just how much real continuous effort (work) is actually needed to have and maintain a successful blog!

Thanks for at least providing some viable options to consider, if you truly enjoy writing!

Great ways to make instant or quick money on the internet by sharing your writing skills. I did not know you could do this until a few weeks ago! I actually filled out an application for an article writing site and I am in the process of being accepted now. I highly suggest that people do this not only for the money, but to advance their writing skills and make them more marketable and professional. It only adds to your experience and only takes a little time out of your day. Thank you for sharing this!
